Franchesca Casauay (b. 1984, Philippines) is a cultural worker with a multidisciplinary practice, working with performance, translation, new media, and various hybrid formats. Year-round she takes on creative, curatorial, producer, researcher/writer, and management roles, oftentimes serving as the crucial link between institutions and artists. In different capacities, she has participated in festivals and art projects across the Philippines, Asia, and Europe. Since the Covid 19 pandemic, and as systemic inequalities are further revealed and exposed daily, her practice has organically shifted to providing support to the artist and activist communities in her locale. Drawing from lessons learned and habits unlearned as creative producer and arts manager for various initiatives, she is committed to actively exploring strategies that can address gaps and inequities in peer-to-peer, institutional, and/or international collaborations, as well as circulating an ethos of care in the way art projects are handled.
