Meng-Hsuan is a hip-hop and contemporary dancer, choreographer, and dance researcher. She completed her M.A. in Cultural Studies and Critic at National Taiwan University of the Arts Graduate Institute of Dance and received her B.A. in History at National Taiwan University. Her thesis Black America Dream: Body Politics and Identity Yearning of Taiwan Street Dance under Globalization focus on the close relationship between Taiwan and United States street dance community, analyzed how the eager of “originality” developed the perception of “street dance” in Taiwan, and formed the training systems which generated the unique feature of Taiwan dancing body. She has worked as dance critic of The National Culture and Arts Foundation, dance writer in Performing Art Review magazine, performing art editor in Artplus magazine, and the curator of TNUA GenieLab ArtFest,an interdisciplinary and experimental art festival.
