Po-Chieh CHEN is a curator, producer, artist, and co-founder and artistic director of the ARS Association, a Taichung-based duo art group in Taiwan that focuses on the practices of contemporary performing arts and interdisciplinary arts and researches the relationships between art and society.
After graduating from the State University of New York, Purchase College (Dance Composition, BFA), she was invited to join Elisa Monte Dance (New York) as a professional dancer. PO developed extensive experience in producing performing arts, arts education, festivals, cultural events, and international collaboration after returning to Taiwan in 2004. She worked with Cloud Gate 2 (Cloud Gate Culture and Arts Foundation) and Performing Arts Alliance (PAA) where she established significant international development initiatives, such as Asian Producers’ Platform (APP Camp) and Taiwan Performing Arts Connection during her service (2009-2014). In 2015, she was invited to join the National Taichung Theater (NTT) as assistant to artistic director & programming associate participated in the curatorial development and project operations. In 2019, she was appointed as Associate Manager (Creative Engagement Division) of the Arts Education Department of the NTT until her departure in March 2022.
