Museums Of Hope, Museums Mazzedaar Collective
Poornima Sardana is an independent museums consultant and Founder, Museums Of Hope. She has studied Design at NIFT, New Delhi (2006-10); Science and Liberal Arts at Ashoka University, Haryana (2012-13); and pursued MA in Museum Studies as a Fulbright-Nehru Scholar at NYU, New York (2014-16). She has been a Young India Fellow, ATSA Fellow (2017) and part of Tate Intensive (2018). She has been an Emerging Innovator at American Alliance of Museums’ Conference (2016), a recipient of ASEF Grant (2020),and Think Arts Grant (2022). She researches on the intersection of museums, health and well-being, and experiments with museums’ contribution to society’s well-being, particularly emotional through her initiative Museums Of Hope.
Poornima was founder of the initiative Friends Of Kathputli Colony Delhi, and has co-founded Museums Mazzedaar Collective with Dr. Anaja Joshi to design playful museum experiences. Her research on museums is published in journals by INTACH, ICAMT (Body of ICOM) and All India Disaster Mitigation Institute. She has co-authored a chapter on cancer’s impact in the book, “Don’t ask me how I am”, and a chapter in the Routledge Publication, “Flourishing in Museums” on positive psychology in Museums. She has worked on museum strategy for education, development and community engagement.She has been visiting faculty at Anant National University and is consultant curator at Nayi Dhara.
