Riskya Duavania (They/Them) is a filmmaker, film editor and artist based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Their work centers on exploring the journey to find freedom as a creative laborer, a queer individual, a traveler, and other identities & entities tied to a sense of otherness and queerness. Riskya is currently working on their first personal documentary project entitled Becoming Riskya, which delves into questions surrounding family, authenticity, and the cost of freedom as they navigate adulthood in Indonesian society as a "woman." The project has been developed through Asia DocMonde, Docs by The Sea, IDFAcademy, and INTRO:DOX. Riskya also served as a film programmer for the Festival Film Dokumenter Yogyakarta from 2019 to 2022.
